Christian Daghio dead: thaiboxe world champion in a coma after meeting in Thailand

MODENA – Thaiboxe world champion Christian Daghio died on 2 November for injuries sustained during a meeting in Thailand. Daghio, 49 years old and originally from Carpi, had moved from the province of Modena to Pattaya 30 years ago, to live his passion for the thaiboxe that led him to conquer seven world titles.

The last meeting Christian had disputed in Bangkok last October 26th. A fight lasted 12 times, until he fainted in the ring. Daghio has entered a coma for the traumas reported during the meeting and has not woken up. Transferred to a hospital in the Thai capital, he died on 2 November.

The thaiboxe champion moved to Pattaya, Thailand about 30 years ago and ran a resort where he taught combat sports to pupils from all over the world. He had been in boxing for a few years and had become a champion of Asia. After a fight for the reconfirmation of the title, which lasted 12 times, he ended up in a coma in the ring. Then the death at the hospital in the capital.
