ROME – Today 29 August, starting at 18 at the Grimaldi Forum in Montecarlo, the draws for the group stage of the Champions League are scheduled. The four Italians are also in the running (Juve, Napoli, Inter and Atalanta), waiting to meet their opponents who will come out of the urn.
In the group stage we remember that teams from the same federation cannot face each other. Furthermore, as established by the UEFA Executive Committee, the teams of Russia and Ukraine (Zenit, Lokomotiv Moscow and Shakhtar) cannot be included in the same group.
First band: Barcelona, Manchester City, JUVENTUS, Bayern Munich, Psg, Zenit, Liverpool, Chelsea.
Second band: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, NAPLES, Shakhtar Donetsk, Tottenham, Benfica, Ajax.
Third bracket: Lyon, Bayer Leverkusen, Salzburg, Olympiakos, Valencia, INTER, Dinamo Zagreb, Bruges.
Fourth band: Genk, Galatasaray, Leipzig, Red Star, ATALANTA, Lille, Lokomotiv Moscow, Slavia Prague.
The matches of the first day of the group stage will be played on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 September, the second day on 1 and 2 October, the third on 22 and 23 October, the fourth on 5 and 6 November, the fifth on 26 and 27 November and the sixth on 10 and 11 December. The draw for the round of 16 will be on December 16th. The first leg will be on February 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th 2019, while the return ones will be on March 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th. On 20 March, UEFA will draw the pairings for the quarter and semifinals. The first leg of the quarter-finals will be on 7 and 8 April, the return a week later. The semi-finals will be on 28 and 29 April and 5 and 6 May. The final will be on Saturday 30 May at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
