GLASGOW (SCOTLAND) – Kevin McGuire, a 36-year-old Celtic fan, was arrested and sentenced to ten months in prison for punching three Glasgow police horses within hours of the Scottish Cup match between the his favorite team and the Airrie. For the record, the match was won with the result of three to zero by Celtic.

As stated in the conviction report, Kevin McGuire was sentenced to ten months in prison for inflicting unnecessary suffering on three police horses, attacking two police officers and acting threateningly and offensively.

Mark Stewart, a sergeant who was at the stadium for order service, provided his version of the facts. His statements are reported by the Corriere dello Sport:

“I asked him to move and punched my horse Oban on the bridle. It was a real punch and also punched another Glasgow police horse, Nerston, in the face. ” Fortunately, the affected horses are doing well.
