ROME – The Coni guarantee committee, chaired by Franco Frattini, declared the appeal of Juventus on the 2005/2006 championship assigned to Inter by the then special commissioner of the FIGC, Guido Rossi, inadmissible. No surprise. The guarantee committee declared "inadmissible" the appeal presented by Juventus to ask to call into question the assignment of the championship 2005-2006, attributed to Inter after the convictions of Juve and Milan for the Calciopoli scandal.
The appeal of Juventus is inadmissible, the championship of 2006 remains with Inter.
The Coni guarantee committee, chaired by Franco Frattini, declared the appeal of Juventus on the 2005/2006 championship assigned to Inter by the then special commissioner of the FIGC, Guido Rossi, inadmissible. 13 years after the scandal that shocked Italian football, the last act on Calciopoli was staged.
In front of the last level of sports justice, Juventus attorney Luigi Chiappero asked for a final decision on the revocation or otherwise of the 2005/06 championship awarded to Inter at the time by Commissioner Guido Rossi, a decision not in fact revoked by the then Federal FIGC council and then by the then Tnas in 2011, which declared itself not competent despite the harsh report of the then federal pm Stefano Palazzi in the light of the new interceptions that also involved the then Nerazzurri manager Giacinto Facchetti.
The 2005-2006 Serie A was the 104th edition of the top flight of the Italian soccer championship (the 74th in the single round), held between August 28th 2005 and May 14th 2006.
The tournament was marked by the scandal later renamed as Calciopoli, following which unlawful relations emerged between sports managers and representatives of the referee class in order to alter the results of certain matches of the 2004-2005 championship. The investigations, started during the month of April, three days after the end of the tournament, were still in progress when Juventus lifted the cup of the championship winners on May 14 and led to a substantial change in the final ranking.
The judgments of the sporting judiciary assigned the title to Inter as the first team to be classified behind Juventus and Milan, both penalized, and among other things they ordered the official relegation of the Turin club in Serie B and the subsequent readmission of Messina ; other clubs involved in the scandal were Fiorentina, Lazio and Reggina.
