ROME – Jordan Veretout is officially a Roma player. This was announced by the Giallorossi club that said they had taken the player on loan for a million, the obligation to purchase outright for 16 million and a bonus of up to two million. The 1993 midfielder signed a five-year contract until June 30, 2024.
"I am very happy to play in this great club, with great players – his first word entrusted to the club site – I will have the opportunity and the luck to share this experience with great teammates". Veretout in its two seasons in Florence totaled 75 appearances scoring 15 goals.
Fonseca is satisfied with the transfer market and the responses received from his players.
"The level of the opponents was not high, but the team tried to do the things we worked on these days well. The sensations are good. I've seen ideas and things that help you become a team: I'm satisfied ”. So Paulo Fonseca, Roma coach, comments on the Giallorossi's 12-0 success against Tor Sapienza, in Trigoria. Speaking on the official website of the Giallorossi club, the Portuguese coach explained that he wanted to "give everyone the chance to play".
This is why "I put two different formations in the field between the first and second half". "Some players – the technician's words – were out of role, but provided positive answers, even if there is still work to be done".
"The players are working well, with commitment, they apply – they are still Fonseca's words -. Our goal is to have a short team, which seeks high pressing, in an attempt to recover the ball as soon as possible. I have seen availability from the players ". In a few hours, the Giallorossi will take the field against Trastevere (Serie D) for another friendly pre-season (source: Ansa).
