Arthur, Juventus' new acquisition, will not play the Champions League match between Barcelona and Naples scheduled for 8 August.
Arthur reported to Barcelona, according to reports from the Mundo Deportivo , that he is currently on vacation in Brazil and will not return for the match against Napoli .
According to the Spanish newspaper, the club would not have granted any permits to Arthur. Therefore Barca will not tolerate absences from the player. The Blaugrana have already sold it to Juventus, but until the end of the season it will be available to coach Quique Setien.
Barcelona, explains Mundo Deportivo, will be forced to open disciplinary proceedings against its card. Club sources, quoted by the newspaper, do not hide great displeasure for what is considered a serious lack of professionalism on the part of Arthur, who would have shown no interest in playing since he signed for Juve. His attitude in training would not have convinced Quique Setien to summon him in the last La Liga games.
The player, born in 1996, had to resume training tomorrow, Wednesday 29 July, in view of the return of the Champions League round of 16 against Napoli (the first leg ended on 1-1 at San Paolo). Arthur was purchased by Juventus (72 million euros plus 10 bonuses), in the operation that will bring Miralem Pjanic to the Nou Camp (for a figure close to 65). (source ANSA)
